New Tourism Investment Program for 2018

The Myrtle Beach Area Convention & Visitor Bureau marketing programs have been revamped and renamed for 2018 to the Tourism Investment Program (TIP). The program provides a great way to get more for your marketing dollars while attracting visitors to your business and that Myrtle Beach area overall. 

The program was revamped following the input we received from a member-driving task force committee to better meet the needs of today's visitor, our member needs and changing market dynamics. Our overall goal remains the same - to continue to generate first-time visitors to the area. We'll accomplish by expanding into new markets for both leisure and group travel and inspiring more people to visit the Myrtle Beach area. Your investment in the program provides you a great opportunity to reach specific target market segments that best fit your needs while having the broad reach of the CVB efforts overall.

New Group Market Program Structure

The new Group Market Program structure for 2018 provides even more flexibility to choose the market and budget level that’s best for your business.  In the past, everyone participated in the leisure program with group markets included whether you targeted that audience or not.  Now, you’ll have the flexibility to invest various group market segments and/or leisure segment.  There is even a discount if you invest in all segments at the top level.  The new group market segments include:

  • Meetings & Convention
  • Tour & Travel
  • Sports Tourism
  • Specialty (SMERF)*

*Specialty (SMERF) groups are included in each group market segment at no additional cost.  The Meetings & Convention and Tour & Travel group market segments include a base or preferred package level.  The base levels include many of the group services provided in the past such as lead generation.  The preferred levels include new opportunities, such as tradeshow appointment detail or tradeshow participation with all expenses paid by MBACVB, excluding meals. 

 
 

2018 cvb lodging partner opportunities

The 2018 Leisure Lodging Program provides four tier options allowing members to customize a package to meet their individual needs. There are several new features this year, but the first one is that every CVB lodging member purchasing a package will have a property link on VisitMyrtleBeach.com year-round. Each added tier provides new marketing opportunities, such as inclusion on deals webpages, emails or even the use of the chamber’s video journalist to create a property video or Facebook live stream session. Tier 3 and Tier 4 packages include options to participate in a Facebook media co-op program and Flip.to social media sales and marketing platform.

The 2018 Activities & Services Programs have a variety of options, beginning with a base CVB membership that includes a permanent website link of VisitMyrtleBeach.com year-round, and online coupon, group leads and link, call center referrals, promotion at visitor centers and more. Ad buy up options include Official Myrtle Beach Area Visitor Guide ads, brochure distribution and more.

The 2018 CVB Theater Program is very similar to the Activities & Services Program, but for Theaters, there is an Enhanced Theater Program included at the Gold and Platinum levels.
