Join us for the 2018 Beach Renourishment Project Update on Wednesday, September 12, from 8:30-10 a.m. at Inlet Affairs in Murrells Inlet. Attendees will hear from Wes Wilson and Bethney Ward with the US Army Corps of Engineers and enjoy breakfast. The meeting is being sponsored by the Myrtle Beach Area Chamber of Commerce's South Strand Council.

The project will begin in August and run through December 2018. The nourishment will include approximately eight miles on Myrtle Beach, four miles on Surfside and Garden City Beaches and two miles on North Myrtle Beach.

Congressman Tom Rice released the following statement: “Over the past few years, my office has helped secure over $80 million to fully fund the Myrtle Beach Restoration Project and renourish beaches along the Grand Strand that suffered significant damage from hurricanes and floods. Our beaches are such an important part of our economy and this funding is critical to their prosperity.”
