Beach Renourishment Update for Myrtle Beach ...

Beach renourishment in Myrtle Beach is scheduled to begin next week, with work expanding to include the Arcadian Shores area just north of the city. The project remains on track for completion by Memorial Day, and the beach will stay open throughout construction with only small sections temporarily closed.

Today, Southwest Airlines announced their intention to serve Myrtle Beach International Airport (MYR). According to Southwest CEO Gary Kelly, service will begin in time for summer vacations to the Myrtle Beach area. A specific launch date and destinations will be announced at a future date.

The Myrtle Beach Area Chamber and Convention & Visitors Bureau is excited to continue to drive recovery for the destination utilizing the SCPRT Tourism Recovery Grant recently received. The recovery grant will enable the CVB to expand its traditional holiday and winter campaigns, as well as encourage 2021 travel.
