Sports Business Journal Selects Myrtle Beach as Top City for Sporting Events

The Myrtle Beach Area Chamber of Commerce (MBACC) and Convention and Visitors Bureau (CVB) is pleased to announce Sports Business Journal selected Myrtle Beach as a top city in America to host sporting events. 

Myrtle Beach ranks No. 15 among U.S. cities without a team in a Big Five professional league and is featured in the journal’s March 18 issue.

Myrtle Beach to Host Second-Annual Boost at the Beach Esports Competition

Visit Myrtle Beach is proud to present the second annual collegiate esports competition, Boost at the Beach, March 8-10, 2024, at The Hangout in Myrtle Beach.

This year’s event has doubled in team size from six schools last year to 12 this year. Teams include two South Carolina universities, Clemson and South Carolina, along with Harrisburg, George Mason, Georgia State, Maryville, Michigan State, Northeastern, Ole Miss, Syracuse, UNC Charlotte and West Virginia.

Nine Local Charities To Benefit From 2024 Myrtle Beach Classic

Nine local social service charities have been selected to receive a grant from revenue generated by the inaugural Myrtle Beach Classic, scheduled May 6-12 at the Dunes Golf and Beach Club, meaning the event will not only showcase the Grand Strand, but also benefit the area. A total of $225,000 will be allocated for 2024.

Myrtle Beach Classic to debut on PGA TOUR in 2024

A new PGA TOUR tournament, the Myrtle Beach Classic, sponsored by Visit Myrtle Beach will debut in 2024 along South Carolina’s Grand Strand. A four-year agreement establishing the event was announced today during a ceremony at The Dunes Golf and Beach Club, with South Carolina Parks, Recreation and Tourism Director Duane Parrish in attendance along with representatives from the PGA TOUR, Visit Myrtle Beach, Golf Tourism Solutions, the City of Myrtle Beach and Horry County, South Carolina.
