The Myrtle Beach Area Convention & Visitors Bureau (MBACVB) is pleased to launch the 2019. Tourism Investment Program (TIP) for tourism-releated businesses throughout the Grand Strand. The TIP partner program provides a great way for tourism businesses to get more for their marketing dollars while attracting visitors to their own business. Combined with the Visit Myrtle Beach marketing programs and all participating partners, we grow the Myrtle Beach area overall.
The CVB's overall goal remains the same – to continue to generate first-time visitors to the area. We’ll accomplish this by expanding into new markets for both leisure and group travel and inspiring more people to visit the Myrtle Beach area. Your investment in the program provides you a great opportunity to reach specific target market segments that best fit your needs while having the broad reach of the CVB efforts overall.
Last year, we had big changes to the program. We’ve heard from many of you and have made some minor changes to the 2019 program to make it even better. This includes the elimination of the $3 dollar per definite room night fee for Groups, a new Deal option for Tier 1 Leisure Lodging Partners, and new digital co-op ad benefits for Tier 2, 3 and 4 Lodging Partners. The 2019 Leisure Lodging Program provides four tier options allowing members to customize a package to meet their individual needs. We will continue to provide every CVB lodging member purchasing a package a property link on VisitMyrtleBeach.com year-round. Each added tier provides marketing opportunities, such as inclusion on deals webpages, emails or even the use of the CVB’s video journalist to create a property video or Facebook live stream session. New for 2019, Tier 1 partners can have one deal featured on the site in one category at a time. Tier 2, 3 and Tier 4 packages are included in Facebook/Google Media Co-op at values of $7,500, $15,000 and $25,000 respectively.
The 2019 Activities & Services Programs have a variety of options, beginning with a base CVB membership that includes a permanent website link on VisitMyrtleBeach.com year-round, an online coupon, group leads and link, call center referrals, promotion at visitor centers and more. Additional options include the Official Myrtle Beach Area Visitors Guide ads and brochure distribution.
Group Market Program
The Group Market Program structure for 2019 provides flexibility to choose the market and budget level that’s best for your business. You’ll have the option to invest in various group market segments and/or the leisure travel market segment. There is even a discount if you invest in all segments at the top level. The group market segments include: Meetings & Conventions, Tour & Travel and Sports Tourism, Specialty (SMERF) Groups are included in each group market segment. Each group segment includes a base or preferred package level. The base levels include many of the group services provided in the past, such as lead generation. The preferred levels include premium opportunities, such as Cvent and HelmsBriscoe membership and lead service, as well as the opportunity to attend up to two trade shows with travel costs included.
We’ve already begun meeting with area members to update them on the new program as deadlines for signing up are just around the corner.
