Visit Myrtle Beach Celebrates Two Wins at Content Marketing Awards

“Traveling the Spectrum” Earns Best Motivational Video or Video Series and Stuart Butler Receives Content Marketer of the Year

MYRTLE BEACH, S.C. —The Content Marketing Institute (CMI) awarded Visit Myrtle Beach with two recognitions in its 2025 Content Marketing Awards. “Traveling the Spectrum” earned Best Motivational Video or Video Series and Stuart Butler, president, won Content Marketer of the Year. The awards honor leaders and programs that capture audience attention and drive meaningful brand impact.

“Traveling the Spectrum” follows families with autism on vacation in Myrtle Beach, showcasing both their joys and challenges while highlighting the destination’s sensory-friendly efforts. Through authentic storytelling and national exposure on Peacock’s streaming platform and the “Today Show,” the series elevates Myrtle Beach as an inclusive destination and trusted resource for neurodiverse travelers.

CMI judges said about the TV series, “The six episodes captivated aspiring travelers with the real-life experiences of three families living with autism as they vacationed in Myrtle Beach. Its emotional portrayal of their joy — balanced by moments of frustration — heightened consumer perception of Myrtle Beach as an appealing and inclusive tourism destination.”

Judges also noted its marketing strategy that prioritizes “trust and emotional engagement” all while helping Visit Myrtle Beach rack up “increased conversions, millions of online impressions, and a pickup by Peacock for two more seasons.”

This makes one of several national recognitions for “Traveling the Spectrum,” including an Emmy nomination, a Silver Telly Award and a Travel Vanguard Award for Visit Myrtle Beach’s accessible-tourism efforts that includes the series.

Adding one more victory, the campaign’s leader, Stuart Butler, received the 2025 Content Marketing Award for Content Marketer of the Year.

Stuart Butler is President of Visit Myrtle Beach, where he oversees destination marketing, group sales, brand strategy and tourism promotion for the Grand Strand. Originally from Southeast England, he has more than two decades of experience in hospitality and tourism, including serving as Chief Marketing Officer at Visit Myrtle Beach.

Butler has championed inclusivity in travel through projects such as the Emmy-nominated “Traveling the Spectrum” series and the “Charlie’s Place Podcast” created with Atlas Obscura and Pushkin. He is also a recognized industry voice, co-hosting “Destination Discourse” and appearing on leading travel and hospitality podcasts.

Judges said Butler has revolutionized not just his organization’s marketing, but also that of the entire destination marketing field through bold leadership, authentic and groundbreaking content, and strategic inclusivity. Additionally, Butler has transformed the destination marketing organization into an innovative content studio, creating “a new blueprint for destination marketing that drives business growth, elevates brand perception and creates meaningful social impact.”

The Content Marketing Awards, presented by the Content Marketing Institute, are the largest international awards program recognizing excellence in strategy, content creation, and storytelling. Entries are judged by industry experts on how well they meet goals, editorial and design quality, and measurable results such as audience engagement. Winners are featured across CMI’s platforms and highlighted at the annual Content Marketing World conference.
